{ indoor+outdoors } a colorful garden party

Thursday, April 28, 2011

Aren't these photos absolutely sublime? Here's some inspirational exterior decor ideas from the talented  London stylist Miranda Watchorn. I love how she adds such bright colors and accessories that would provide such an extra spark to a garden-themed party. Her eye to detail is stunning and I love her choice of color palette. This setting would be perfect for a engagement party, a family reunion, or simply a fancy, whole day picnic with friends and loved ones. Oh, and who can say no to peonies?

{ image inspiration } easter memories

Sunday, April 24, 2011

How is your Easter going? We spent a lovely Easter with family, an adorable french wedding on Saturday followed by a large family luncheon today. Everything has made me a little bit nostalgic, especially when thinking of how I used to celebrate Easter as a child. I remember absolutely loving the Easter egg hunts, decorating eggs or Easter carnivals, and of course, all the yummy candy and chocolates.

I still have my filling of chocolates this year, but I would love to organize an Easter egg hunt next year, even if it's just us adults. I think it would be a lovely way to let everyone go back to being kids again, if only for a day. Plus, since there's such a thing as alcohol-flavored chocolates, it might be quite a success after all. Happy Easter everyone ♥!
I hope you woke up to these this morning
And had a generous serving of these
Or baked a batch of these
With something beautiful to end your Easter day
And not forgetting our beloved mascots

dream hotels: magical montenegro

Tuesday, April 19, 2011

It's been a while since I've done a dream hotel post, so here's another picturesque hotel located on the amazing island of Sveti Stefan south of the city Budva, Montenegro. Aman Sveti Stefan is a resort which resides on the majority of the island - one with scenic, sandy beaches and gorgeous architecture, allowing each of it's 58 suits to have view of the sea and the mainland villa. The Aman Sven Stefan hotel lets one fully immerse themselves into the culture, atmosphere and architecture of the surroundings.

The decor of each room is unique, modern and luxurious, with a touch of traditional warmth. For all the resort offers, I must say I find the rates pretty decent. Having a whole island and coastline at your disposal, this resort would be a perfect getaway for those who want an intimate and unforgettable vacation.

bakery window shopping

Friday, April 15, 2011

Now that the sun's starting to peek out of the clouds, I can once again enjoy one of my favorite pastimes... window shopping at the various bakeries and patisseries along the streets of Paris. Be warned, this is not for the faint-hearted or the easily tempted as it might induce mouth-watering and tummy grumbling. Around spring time marks the arrival of brightly colored and fruit-filled delights, definitely a feast for the eyes as much as they are to taste. And one can be forgiven for treating themselves to something sweet after a long day of window shopping .

back to you...

Wednesday, April 13, 2011

My, my... it's been a while hasn't it? Life has taken me on quite a few unexpected turns, forcing me to concentrate on certain things and unfortunately, neglect my blog. But through these events I've managed to find silver linings and realizing the importance of true things, like family, love and hope. I'm back now, hopefully for good and with a revelation about the importance of not letting challenges take away what's important to you.

When going through hard times, I stopped blogging about things that make me happy, or that catch my eye or brighten up my day because I had lost the motivation to do so. But now I realize that even more so it is important to continue to write, to enjoy, to collect, to share and to be inspired... and that by the simple gesture of blogging can refocus one's attention on the good and the positive, instead of dwelling on whatever momentary hardships that might cross one's path.

I know I've rambled on quite a bit, but I did want to offer an explanation for my absence, to share my mini-epiphany with you and ultimately to thank all my lovely followers for sticking around :) I can't wait to visit your blogs and catch up with you all. Hello again, lovelies <3
