My, my... it's been a while hasn't it? Life has taken me on quite a few unexpected turns, forcing me to concentrate on certain things and unfortunately, neglect my blog. But through these events I've managed to find silver linings and realizing the importance of true things, like family, love and hope. I'm back now, hopefully for good and with a revelation about the importance of not letting challenges take away what's important to you.

When going through hard times, I stopped blogging about things that make me happy, or that catch my eye or brighten up my day because I had lost the motivation to do so. But now I realize that even more so it is important to continue to write, to enjoy, to collect, to share and to be inspired... and that by the simple gesture of blogging can refocus one's attention on the good and the positive, instead of dwelling on whatever momentary hardships that might cross one's path.

I know I've rambled on quite a bit, but I did want to offer an explanation for my absence, to share my mini-epiphany with you and ultimately to thank all my lovely followers for sticking around :) I can't wait to visit your blogs and catch up with you all. Hello again, lovelies <3

I fell in love with Sanna Annukka's gorgeous, finely intricate artwork. She's a half-Finnish, half-English lass with a love of folklore and natural elements, which can be clearly seen from her illustrations. Her work has brought her much success - you might have already spotted her work on Keane's under the sea album, various Marimekko products, beautiful vintage-themed notecards and on biscuits tins for Mark & Spencer. 

Here are some of her amazing patterned designs, she also silkscreens her own prints for sale on her shop here. Wouldn't it be lovely to hang up some of these?

packaging: lokum delight

The 'cute collector' in me just had to share these. These amazing little creations by equally amazing designer tamer koseli are the packages of turkish delights (also known as Lokum) targeted at children to encourage them to keep these boxes as paper toys. They're not only cute, but functional and eco-friendly as well!

 

I love how each of them has a distinct character and how lovable they'd be on any shelf or table. Or maybe I'm a just design junkie who's too fond of paper things. I'd love to print these out and have my own little turkish friends to brighten up my work space.

wook kim's wildlife wallpaper

One day, when I'm finally able to call myself a homeowner, I would love to dedicate a room with whimsical wallpaper. Something like these samples here, from creative creator Wook Kim. His graphic designs always incorporate elements of nature that can bring life to any room and will revolutionize the way you see traditional wallpaper.

trip to zuttoworld

Russian-based digital illustrator Zutto has a pretty impressive portfolio. Her work is extremely colorful, sometimes dark and always cute. Whether it's illustrations bathed in monochromatic shades of blue and grey or full explosions of rainbow colored scenes, Zutto's work is always a feast for the eyes.

meet meomi

If any of you kept with the last Olympic games, I'm sure you would have seen the cute mascots designed by character creators Meomi, a talented couple who churn out adorable designs one after another. Not only have they done commercial work for the likes of EA, Google and Yo Gabba Gabba, they also write and illustrate a series of children's books named The Octonauts. Here's some of their inspiring work:
