{ label love } ruche

Sunday, May 8, 2011

I fell head over heels in love with this lookbook from independent Californian e-boutique, Ruche entitled "A Spring Daydream". An online shop dedicating itself to vintage-inspired clothing, their spring 2011 lookbook is truly one of the most beautiful and artistic ones I've ever seen. An inspiring little online shop with a strong following, their clothes all offer a vintage flair for an affordable price. These photos shot by the talented Stephanie Williams with set design by Jessica Haack and Sovy Designs will definitely put you in a dreamy, romantic mood.

editorial: haunting beauty

Monday, February 21, 2011

Perhaps a tad morbid, but this editorial for Wallflower Magazine's first issue is has completely caught my attention. I love the colors in play here, and the premise of a lost girl prancing around in a cemetery. The sunlight and atmosphere emphasizes the girl's innocence and photographer Ann He does a wonderful job being only 16. I'll be doing a post solely to share more of her amazing work but for now enjoy these!

editorial: three pretty girls

Thursday, February 3, 2011

I've been meaning to post this editorial for No Magazine's December 2010 issue. I love everything about it, the color, the mood and the lost girl innocence portrayed by these three lovely girls. It seems to show a lazy summer day where girls can run around playing hide and seek and forgetting about the rest of the world. I've been falling more and more in love with magazines from Australia like Frankie and now No Magazine that I wish there was a way I could buy them here in France. Perhaps I should do some magazine swaps, if anyone is interested :)

editorial: the lovely elle fanning

Tuesday, December 21, 2010

An established actress at only 12, Elle Fanning is not only carving out her own name and career in acting, she is also growing up to be quite a stunning, beautiful young lady. She has such an angelic face, I can't wait to see her performance in Somewhere by Sofia Coppola. One of my friends gave me a copy of Lula which features Elle in a gorgeous editorial that I just had to share with you here.

I can definitely see her becoming equally as famous as her older sister Dakota. The only one thing that I could hope for her is that the glitz and glamor of Hollywood doesn't take away the most important years of her childhood and that she doesn't try to grow up too fast. She is only 12, after all.

label love: project alabama

Sunday, November 21, 2010

I'm so happy I stumbled across this amazing, young label. Born in 2006, Project Alabama's collection is free-spirited and mixes traditional and modern aesthetics. Their pieces look amazingly youthful, romantic and blends perfectly with the nature surrounding it. I imagine if I ever were lucky enough to wear any of these  country-inspired garments I would spend the day running around barefoot in a field or dipping my toes into a lake. These images are a daydreamer's perfection and have brightened up my day, I hope you like them too!

label love: isabel marant

Friday, November 5, 2010

Oh these outfits are so adorable. Isabel Marant's spring summer lookbook for 2011 is light, flirty and feminine. I've been a fan of Isabel's clothes since I've been in Paris. Her collections are always light-hearted, perfectly blending a style that suits lovers of bohemian and french chic. I've always had an affinity for reds and pinks and these pieces win me over with both.

The photos for this collection of lonely hearts lingerie is filled with innocence and a subtle sexiness. I love their unique designs matched perfectly with powder nude tones. The photography here is soft and romantic, and showcase a delicate side to lingerie which makes this label stand out from the rest.

editorial: jalouse's popdoll

Sunday, October 10, 2010

I am a lover of magazines. I love flipping through glossies, looking at pages and pages of inspiration, editorials and well-written articles. One of my favorite magazines that I discovered in France is Jalouse. Targeting the youth (or the young at heart) it indulges in the indie pop scene with up and coming performers and feautres on happening events without forgetting to focus on everything girly. It also has some of the prettiest editorials, like this one here in their June 2010 issue, aptly titled pop doll. PS: Make a wish, it's 10.10.10 ♥.
