interior ideas: romantique canopies

Saturday, December 4, 2010

I have always loved the idea of having a canopy bed... perhaps it's a girly thing but I find them so cosy and romantic. They would also be perfect in a bedroom with large windows and a lot of natural light seeping in. My husband worries that they might be a bit too feminine but I think that's not necessarily the case with the right linens and colors. Canopy beds could be quite minimalistic yet add a certain flair to an otherwise empty bedroom. What do you guys think of these gorgeous inspirations from marie claire maison?

I love canopy beds, there is something so romantic about them and then of course there is the warmth on a wintery night! I have just had a wonderful time looking through your headings and your blog, what a wonderful interesting blog you have here and how wonderful to live in Paris!

Love! That third spot would be a wonderful place to start the day. It's almost like the architecture of the home is embracing the bed..

I love that first photo. I've always found mosquito netting around a bed romantic - the idea of a sweltering romantic bed in some exotic locale.

Found you through Lyrical Journey. Love your blog and will continue to follow.

Very romantic but the only time I have ever used one was when I was in Kenya and that as for the mosquitoes and not for the romance :)

Oh wow! It looks super romantic and dreamy! :)
I have always wanted canopies like that and not the overly huge ones that are super heavy!

My sister always had a beautiful net above her bed like in the first picture when we were growing up. However, she wove silk flowers around the top and it looked very elegant!

I'm thinking about just leaving this post up so I can remember it forever. I just got a new bedroom set and I am thinking that having a SEMI Canopy is the perfect thing for my bedroom. I know exactly how I'm going to do it now that i've seen this post! All I need now is my interior decorator (aka my sister) to make the magic happen...

I've always dreamed of a canopy bed - so beautiful - it's like you can separate yourself from the rest of the world

I LOVE canopy beds (I love that last picture especially) and always have, ever since I was a little girl. Its something about them that makes you feel like a slumbering princess waiting for your prince to kiss you awake? I don't know... I just know that I swoon at the idea of a canopy bed. Lol. I'm working on re-doing my room and that's one of the upgrades on top of my list, along with White Twinkle lights :}

My favorite room is the "earth tone accents". But my favorite canopy will have to be a touch of royalty. This post makes me want to move :)

These are too gorgeous! My parents got me a canopy bed frame when I was young but then never around to buying fabric to hang on it haha.

Canopy beds will always be on my dream list, but right now, it's just impractical for me as my bedroom is already small. Hopefully you can have yours one day!
